About

At the heart of Meyer’s practice is the charge released when objects and images enter each other’s orbit. Drawing from the breadth of material culture, she works as an aggregator of images and objects, maintaining a continuously evolving personal archive from which combinations are drawn and tested for their alchemical potential.

These artefacts and images carry the weight of the moments that produced them, their significance shifting as they move through different eras and social spaces. In the resulting works, things are brought into collision, each with its own agency capable of disrupting meaning with the smallest intervention.

The relationships proposed are deliberately ambiguous, close enough to suggest meaning, open enough to refuse it.
